One of the first things we had the chance to do with students this year was a BBQ. One of my sophomore classes invited us for a saturday activity and it was a blast. Now I know what you are thinking. A Chinese BBQ is not like a BBQ in the states. And actually the Chinese say BBQ they mean Korean BBQ. Korean BBQ is where you bring lots of veggies and different pieces of meat and put them on metal skewers kinda like a kebab then they proceed to sprinkle ok more like dump hot chili powder on them until they are so covered a normal person could never eat it. So if you can get them to leave the spices off they are actually super tasty. So we met up with the students at some rediculous hour in the morning for a saturday. Then we rode a bus for like an hour (to go about 10 miles) and hiked the mountain (which only took about 20 min yeah mountain right). Then we ate, sang, played games, and took pictures (and that was the great part). Spent like the whole day there it was great. If you ever are in lanzhou it is someplace we will for sure have to take you.
