Thanksgiving is coming soon!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we pause in the midst of our busy-ness to reflect on all our blessings in the past year. We never could have imagined blogging from China a year ago... and yet we are! What an amazing Father to bring us so far and so safely!

We hope you will take the time to pause and reflect on all you are thankful for. I have been teaching about Thanksgiving with my classes, and it has been interesting to hear what they are thankful for. Family, friends, boyfriends (as most students are girls!), health. My goal is to encourage them to think deeply about what is special in their lives and to be deeply grateful and not take anything for granted. I am convicted to do the same then!!

Had some wonderful news from the homefront (WOO, Sam!) so I am riding high in my spirits today. I have been buoyed also by how well classes are going so far this week. In my film classes, we are talking about True Love and I am able to share the definition from the Book according to Paul. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast... What a great definition to think on for my students!

We are deeply grateful and thankful to Him for YOU. You who support us and make our being in China possible: You are truly the strength and faithfulness that supports and undergirds us. Without you, we certainly would not be here. You who think of us regularly with affection and strong petition: You make our days productive and worthwhile. THANK YOU.

One of my students said that true love, to him, is something that you feel from the bottom of your heart. Another students said that true love is sacrifice without hesitation. As we sacrifice and give up for our love for each other and these precious students, may we be deeply thankful to the Father for the strength and determination to do so!

You are in the center of our thoughts and we lift you up, grateful for your friendship and love.

Much love whilst in His grip,
M+A

P.S. Dave, you should blog more.
